（一）尊重本地群众的愿望，注重反映当地历史、文化、地理特征，突出地方特色。（二）坚持相对稳定、名副其实、雅俗共赏、规范有序、易记好找的原则，反映道路特征和路网关系，突出指向、指位功能和系列化、序列化特征。（三）体现地方区域文化、历史特色，体现时代精神风貌，尊重当地历史文化，充分挖掘地名历史文化内涵。（四）用字、读音必须准确规范，避免使用生僻字、同音字和字形、字音容易混淆的字。（五）简要说明城市道路名称的涵义、寓意。
